As a nurse and a soon to be first time mom, my goal for our nursery was to not only have it “look pretty” but insure safety for our little one. Choosing a fan instead of a traditional light fixture or chandelier was important to us for many reasons!
According to the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, babies have a 72 percent less chance of dying from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) if they sleep with a ceiling fan in a baby’s nursery than those who don’t as a result of a fan’s improved room ventilation! These results were so remarkable that my decision to have a fan in our little one’s nursery was made.
A fan also doesn’t dry out the air like an air conditioner would. But don’t mistaken what I am saying here... we will continue to use AC in our home but can avoid overuse of it by using a fan to make sure our little one is comfortable in her room.
During our search for the perfect ceiling fan and without compromising vision I had for our nursery, I came across The Dempsey modern ceiling fan by Hunter Fan Company! It was the perfect addition to the look we wanted to achieve in this space! I loved the modern yet farmhouse style that was classic and timeless. The Dempsey ceiling fan also tied perfectly into the overall look we have carried throughout our home! Whether it’s designing a new area or restyling a part of one’s home, I lean towards consistency. Keeping the same “theme” or style throughout our home has allowed me to insure that the every room flows nicely together!
The low profile Dempsey ceiling fan is a simple, yet stylish farmhouse design and was easy to install. Overall, I was impressed with the multiple functional options this fan offers. You can have the fan running with the light on or off and alter the brightness of the light using the handheld remote control. The remote control has a holder which can be attached to a wall for easy storage and to help with our mama brains so that we do not misplace it! What I love most about this ceiling fan is the quietness of it when in use on high. Oftentimes fans can be excessively noisy and this certainly is not the case for this Hunter ceiling fan.
I envision this ceiling fan providing comfort and ease to any first time mom! The remote control will allow me to adjust the fan settings while breastfeeding or rocking our little one to sleep in our glider without having to get up and be distracted from the task at hand. Our Dempsey ceiling fan has helped me to stay cool and calm during the many nights that I have spent in our nursery dreaming about her arrival. You’ve got this mama’s seal of approval and I am excited to use this fan routinely.
